GVC COURSE
General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC)
The new General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) is designed for commercial drone pilots operating enterprise drones.
COURSE OVERVIEW
GVC Course (E-Learning)
The General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) is a new drone qualification introduced on the 1st January 2021, and is designed for pilots looking to fly heavier drones for commercial inspections.
Having the GVC allows you to fly enterprise drones in the new Specific category – enabling you to operate with heavier payloads and equipment. GVC qualified pilots can fly enterprise drones as close as 50m from uninvolved people.
This CAA Approved certificate also opens up access to a wide range of new areas to fly – without it, pilots will not be able to operate within 150m of recreational, commercial, industrial or residential areas.

Why do I need a GVC?
To put it simply, without an A2 CofC new pilots will not be able to fly their drone in most places within the UK. This qualification enables new pilots to legally fly their drone closer to people and buildings – both recreationally and commercially. Course topics include:
Meteorology & Planning
UK Air Law & Responsibilities
Drone Flight Performance & Operations
Drone Operating Principles
So which drone qualification do I need?
From the 1st January 2021, new drone regulations based on European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) rules will come into effect. These new rules will put drone flying into 3 separate categories, which will require specific qualifications to fly in.
