Detect problem areas, assess training performance and monitor injury with equine thermography.
We’ve recently launched a range equine thermography courses designed to deliver the fundamental skills and knowledge required to capture and analyse infrared equine scans as part of a professional service.
- Learn pre-scan, scan and post scan procedures
- Understand equine pattern recognition and analysis
- Discover abnormal thermal patterns
The courses, starting from £165.00 ex. VAT, require no previous experience or thermal imaging equipment – we’ll provide everything you need!
What is equine thermography?
Equine thermography (also known as thermal imaging) is a non-invasive method of measuring heat emissions from the body, quickly identifying problem areas and accurately locating the source of aches and pains.
How can equine thermography help?
Taught through a range of practical exercises and formative case studies, delegates attending our courses will be able to:
- Identify nerve damage
- Identify bone injury
- Identify undiagnosed lameness
- Identify muscle damage
- Identify soft-tissue damage
- Identify tendon stress
- Monitor injury
- Monitor performance
- Assess saddle-fit
Are your equine thermography courses accredited?
Currently, there are no accrediting bodies for equine thermography – however we’re working hard to change that! In preparation for this, our equine thermography courses conform to ISO 18434 and ISO 18436 standards, and are all certified by the iRed Academy.
Who teaches the courses?
Our equine courses are taught by Elaine Hall Dipl ICAT, MAAT, AFHEA, who is a certified thermographer and equine specialist. Elaine has trained globally with some of the world’s leading veterinary thermographers including Dr Tracy Turner, Prof. Ram Purohit, Dr Jim Waldsmith and Dr Ken Marcella; and is an active member of the UKTA, Veterinary Thermal Imaging Society, American Academy of Thermology (AAT) and International Equine Thermography Association.
