This introductory course provides delegates with an understanding of the fundamentals of thermal imaging. As such, the course does not require delegates to have any previous knowledge or experience of thermal imaging or its applications.
Thermal imaging cameras can identify, capture, and assess heat loss. Therefore, thermographers are able to provide a range of different services, including:
- Thermal building surveys
- Electrical testing
- Photovoltaic (solar) panel inspections
- Search and rescue emergency response
Many factors can affect a final thermal image. This course explains how thermal cameras can accurately measure the temperature of objects and identify faults for further investigation.
Firstly, the course will introduce delegates to key factors in thermal imaging. These include heat transfer mechanisms, the electromagnetic spectrum, and emissivity. Each of these factors is essential in ensuring a thermographer uses their camera correctly, for accurate image capture.
In addition, delegates will learn the basics of thermal camera operation, as well as fixed camera parameters and ideal environmental conditions. The course will also demonstrate to delegates how to accurately capture thermal images for analysis and reporting.
