The Thermal Imaging for Buildings course teaches delegates how to use thermal imaging as an inspection tool specifically within the built environment. As such, the course is ideal for building surveyors, inspectors, and assessors. It is a 3-day course delivered via Google Meets with one of our Instructors teaching from the classroom between the hours of 09:00-17:00.
Thermal imaging has a variety of applications throughout the building sector. For example, thermal imaging surveys can detect issues such as air leakage, missing insulation, and heat loss within properties. As a result, this enables property owners to repair any issues and also improve energy efficiency.
The Thermal Imaging for Buildings course teaches the basics of thermal imaging, such as how to set-up and operate a thermal camera. Furthermore, the 3-day course uses both theory and practical exercises to demonstrate how to inspect different buildings, including domestic and commercial properties.
In addition, this course will enable delegates to use thermal imaging cameras to detect thermal bridges and assess surface temperatures. As well as this, delegates will learn how to track a building’s energy efficiency.
Delegates will also study image tuning and post processing procedures, as well as report writing. These are all essential elements of a thermal survey, and so they are important factors for delegates wishing to offer thermal imaging as a professional service.
Many factors, such as ambient surroundings and camera settings, can affect a thermal image. As such, training helps thermographers to avoid common mistakes and learn how to create accurate and actionable reports.
Thermal Imaging for Buildings Course Assessment
To achieve the qualification, delegates will need to complete one thermal imaging report containing five different thermal images. Delegates will have up to a year after the end of the course to submit their report to iRed for assessment.
This course is suitable for delegates who do not require an ISO accredited thermal imaging qualification. Successful completion of the course also provides eligibility for the Elmhurst Thermography Scheme.
Please Note: Delegates will need to ensure they have access to a webcam, microphone, speakers and a strong internet connection. It is also essential to complete the course in a quiet, undisturbed environment.
