With sophisticated thermal imaging and optical cameras attached to a drone, surveys and inspections take far less time at far less cost.

Ben, who is based at the company’s headquarters in Emsworth, said: “I have had an interest in drones since they were introduced.

“Previously I’ve worked with IT servers and networks, but this is a role that fascinates me.

“I have been building drones for some time and now I can do it on a professional scale for a leading company.

“We create bespoke systems which might or not include thermal imaging cameras.

“There are endless applications for drones and we can assist businesses looking to utilise their potential in any area.

“The company also offers comprehensive training so I’m part of a team that delivers a whole package to the client.”

Ray Faulkner, managing director of iRed who is one of the pioneers of thermography, said: “Drone technology is a real growth area and Ben’s expertise will help us react to that.

“There are numerous elements to the business and Ben will be able to co-ordinate them to give an even better service and product to our clients.
