Thermal Imaging can help identify issues such as heat loss within buildings

The iRed Academy has been named as an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) by The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) for its Building Thermal Imaging courses.

CITB is the leading industry training board for the construction sector, providing useful knowledge and resources to support those in the industry. They aim to encourage and develop new talent, as well as promote the many rewarding career opportunities within the construction industry.

A CITB Approved Training Organisation provides construction training courses and qualifications that meet defined and industry approved standards.

As such, iRed is proud to be recognised by CITB for delivering good quality training that meets these high standards.

Building Thermal Imaging

The iRed Academy’s thermal imaging for buildings courses deliver the necessary knowledge and practical skills needed to become an infrared thermographer. Focusing on the construction and pathology of buildings in the context of thermal imaging, these courses teach students how to use thermal imaging cameras to undertake professional surveys of both domestic and commercial properties.

Using thermal imaging cameras to test the building fabric allows for the quick identification of issues such as air leakage and heat loss. In addition, trained thermographers can assess heat transfers within the built environment to improve energy efficiency and monitor building performance.

These courses are available for both experienced thermographers and those new to industry. Category 1 delivers the fundamentals of camera operation as well as thermal image processing and professional practice. The Category 2 course builds on the skills and knowledge gained at Category 1. Delegates learn the advanced principles of thermal imaging, plus the thermodynamics of buildings and commercial construction.

The iRed Academy

iRed is an industry-leading provider of remote sensing courses, providing specialist training across the UK that aims to meet current and emerging commercial needs. Since 2002, iRed has been delivering innovative training for thermal imaging, drone deployment and equine technician courses.

Working closely with leading academic institutions, the iRed team has been able to pioneer many new techniques and practices for industry. This has led to iRed being accredited by both the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing and the Awarding Body of the Built Environment.
