iRed, the UK’s leading remote sensing consultancy, has reported record results for 2018-2019, with an annual turnover of over £1m for the financial year.
Ray Faulkner, managing director of iRed, said: “Our strengths have been in embracing new technologies and applying them to a wide range of commercial sectors. This has enabled us to consistently increase our turnover year-on-year.”
During 2018, iRed’s research-led development broadened the thermal imaging technology platform to include multispectral, photogrammetry and drone deployment technologies. Now, the company operates in three distinct divisions, which include inspections, training and sales solutions.
Since becoming a DJI Enterprise Dealer in 2017, iRed has also experienced significant growth in its new sales division, where revenues have increased by over 300% during 2018.
Ray continued: “We’ve invested heavily in research and development over the last few years, which is now helping us to achieve our financial targets. This is aided by our reliability and consistency in service across all divisions.”
The company, based in Emsworth, now has 18 members of staff, and has been praised by local MP Alan Mak for creating highly skilled jobs in the local area of Hampshire.
Looking ahead for 2019, iRed are in preparation for an upcoming collaboration with the University of Portsmouth, in an initiative to improve energy efficiency in the built environment. The team are also looking forward to demonstrating their latest technologies and innovations at a number of events, including the 2019 GeoBusiness Show and the Commercial UAV Show.
In summary, Ray concluded: “2018 has been a fantastic year for iRed, and we’re looking forward to pioneering new techniques and practices for industry. It’s inspiring to see the positive impacts our innovations are having.”
